You can't really understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes. That's why we are asking the 7 Rivers Region to put on high heels and join us in a Walk against Domestic Violence.
On July 5, the Riverfest Commodores will once again host Walk a Mile in Her Shoes during Riverfest. Their goal is to have more than 500 men (and women) join them to literally walk in high-heeled shoes for two laps around Riverside Park. It's not going to be easy, but it will be fun. It will get our community talking about a subject that's difficult to understand -- domestic violence.
This march is open to men, women and children of all ages. Men put yourself in her shoes by wearing high heels during the one-mile walk around Riverside Park. Women - be a Sole Sister and give support by walking alongside the men who care.
Registration & Check-In: 2 to 5 p.m.
Shoe Pick-up: 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Walk Begins: 6 p.m.
The first 50 walkers to raise $200 or more in pledges will receive a Walk a Mile in Her Shoes golf umbrella!
